Our industry recently (and long overdue) has identified some underlying problems with mental health of company employees. Skill Scaffolding Limited have taken this on board and have set in motion a few practices and connections for our employees who may be struggling with mental health. We will reveal this in a future blog. To start with however, in 2019 the Skill management team identified that without a happy and motivated workforce the company just wouldn`t function. We are sure that at some time in our lives a parent or family member has said to us that `manners cost nothing` and that it is okay to say thank you. As of January 2020, the company would like to say thank you to all our employees on a monthly basis. We will be implementing a bonus system for every grade of employee, yard staff, trainee, improver and chargehand. The award will go to any individual in each employment category for exemplary performance. Further bonus will be given based on Health and Safety and Housekeeping. £100.00 will be given to each employee in these six categories with a further £200.00 given to the employee of the month who shows a great attitude and willingness in all the above.

At the end of the year an employee of the year will be chosen who has continually strived to maintain these principles.

On that note we would like to congratulate Craig Strong on his fantastic achievement throughout 2019.

Craig Strong

Craig joined the Skill team in February 2015 as a trainee scaffolder with limited experience in the scaffolding world. One thing that the management team did notice in him though, right from the start, was his desire to work and succeed. In the five years that he has been with the company he has grown into a fantastically trained and competent scaffolder who the operations team can totally rely on to go above and beyond to get the job done to the satisfaction of Skill Scaffolding and the client. He has learnt and shown tremendous attributes that will hold him in good stead throughout his career, such as Leadership qualities, decision making, intelligence, safety awareness, charisma and good communication skills to ensure the machine doesn`t break down. Such is the operations team`s faith in him over 2019 he has been `earmarked` and personally been requested by clients for some upcoming projects in 2020. The skills he has learnt over the past years will be invaluable on these projects and give the client comfort that they have made the right choice in selecting Skill to undertake their access requirements again.

Well done Craig!
