Here at Skill, we’re all about celebrating our successes. That’s why we’re proud to launch the Skill Case Study Series… first up, R&W Civil Engineering.
There’s a lot that goes into “a job well done”. Exceptional customer service. Attention to detail. Efficiency. Ticking every single box.
And this is what we pride ourselves on. It’s also the thing we want to shout about more.
Because Team Skill is the lifeblood of our company; without our dedicated, passionate and talented working community, we would never have grown to become the south’s leading scaffolding provider.
That’s why we have decided to launch the Skill Case Study Series; once a month, we will throw the spotlight on a job that our team has knocked out of the park.
Let’s kick things off with R&W Civil Engineering.
The Client – R&W Civil Engineering.

R&W Civil Engineering is well known for their unbeatable reliability and first class service delivery. Their work crosses both planned and reactive, solving problems that often seem unsolvable and fixing emergencies.
They focus primarily on:
- Highways maintenance
- Structures
- Emergency response and flood alleviation
They’re conscientious, ethical and people-focused: exactly the kind of client we adore.
The Project – Retain walls on the M25.
We were hired to deliver 110m of guardrails in order to help R&W Civil Engineering retain walls on the M25.
James Houghton, our Senior Changehand, completed this in just one day and on programme. His work was speedy but safe, efficient and secure.
The client was very pleased with the final outcome as they were able to continue and complete their work totally on schedule.
A Special Shoutout – Darren Clement.
We want to give a shout out to our Commercial Director, Darren Clement, who instructed and advised James throughout the project.
Darren has spent the past year working with R&W Rail, and has built a brilliant relationship with their team. It gave the team a real buzz to see we had secured work with the civil engineering side of the business… and for that, we would like to say a huge thank you and well done to Darren!
